Adding data to the NetCDF viewer

  • The root directory for the viewer is generally /var/www/web-vis/Data/Listed (this may vary depending on how the Apache web-server was configured and on where web-vis was installed). You might want to create a sub-directory under this root directory. Special characters such as space, accents and umlauts are allowed in the directory name
  • Copy the netCDF file somewhere under this root directory
  • Reset the access time of the root directory by: 
touch /var/www/data/SeaDataNet-domains

This will instruct the web viewer to re-index the directory hierarchy.

  • On the browser-side you need to reload the web-page by bypassing the cache. In Firefox you can do this with Control-Shift-R.
